The name of the film stems from an association with Three Conversations, a book by Vladimir Solovyov. The Fourth Conversation is a reflection documentary. Who are we? Why are we here? What is patriotism? Is there any special “Russian idea”? This is a documentary with complex ideas and it requires focused attention, involvement and reflection together with its authors. Perhaps, it is worth watching over and over again. The authors do not intend to give answers to the questions raised. They aim only to remind us that there are questions like that, over which the best intellectuals of Russia rack their brains. As for the answers, every age suggests its own answers to these questions.
